ANYONE PLANNING PREGNANCY… please download chapter 12 of the book ‘While Science Sleeps’—a must-read, to keep your baby safe. This is the sad story of Joy, and a birth defect caused by her mother drinking diet drinks during pregnancy.
The FDA have withheld information about birth defects caused by Aspartame for over 30 years. Even with permission to view all the data held by the FDA, they deliberately withheld memos that would have alerted Prof. Monte before his sad encounter with the mother of baby Joy.
Something very wrong is going on, something that is killing good people and causing untold suffering to families and communities around the world. In the past thirty years, a group of diseases has reached epidemic proportions. These afflictions, often collectively referred to as diseases of civilization (DOC), include multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, breast cancer, lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, melanoma, and autism—a once rare birth defect.
Because the incidence of these diseases has increased gradually over three decades, we are inclined to accept this as a natural part of modern life. But such a lethal trend is not natural; the changes that we have witnessed over the last generation are unprecedented in the history of medical science.
Methanol and MS
UNTIL 200 YEARS AGO, methanol was an extremely rare component of the human diet and is still rarely consumed in contemporary hunter-gatherer cultures. With the invention of canning in the 1800s, canned and bottled fruits and vegetables, whose methanol content greatly exceeds that of their fresh counterparts, became far more prevalent. The recent dietary introduction of aspartame, an artificial sweetener 11% methanol by weight, has also greatly increased methanol consumption. Moreover, methanol is a major component of cigarette smoke, known to be a causative agent of many diseases of civilization (DOC).
The methanol contained in the diet soda produced in many countries of the world is dangerous. It comes from Aspartame. There is no safe level of consumption of methanol!
Methanol is particularly dangerous to humans, more so than any other animal.
When humans consume low doses of methanol it is metabolized directly into formaldehyde—which is a cancer-producing agent as dangerous as asbestos and plutonium. This conversion does not all happen in the liver, a common misconception, but also in the brain and a woman’s breasts. It is my belief that diet soda has contributed to the rise of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis, preceded by the use of Aspartame as a food ingredient…

There’s plenty of information out there on Aspartame, such as:

Remember, you can tell a lot about something by the company it keeps:
Monsanto, the FDA & Donald Rumsfeld..!
All of your citations are simply hearsay by people without any relevant credentials. This a conspiracy borne of widespread folate deficiency in the 1980′s and 1990′s that caused serious birth defects leading to the 1998 mandate to add folate to grain products. Your cited critics have added nothing since the 1980′s and 1990′s that meets any scientific criteria of relevance.
Repeat, there are NO acceptable, reproducible scientific papers to the contrary. But there are questionable conspiracy theorists, including Mercola (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Mercola) and others, claiming that there are accepted, reproducible scientific papers that indicate harm. But these people profit from books, false treatments (Janet Hull), and other misleading innuendo. In reality critics all fail to understand that any perceived issue with aspartame reflects the user’s own questionable health.
