NOV 1: New Hole Appears in Reactor #2
Boric acid has been introduced into the crippled Fukushima Plant to prevent a nuclear explosion. According to a breaking story on Enformable.com, there appears to be a new hole in Fukushima Unit 2 even as TEPCO is reporting that fission is happening there. Please stay tuned to FukushimaUpdate and Enformable for more on this developing story. (More)
“It is certain that fission is occurring..”—TEPCO Manager
The company, known as Tepco, began spraying boric acid on the No. 2 reactor at 2:48 a.m. Japan time to prevent accidental chain reactions. Tepco said it may have found xenon, which is associated with nuclear fission, while examining gases taken from the reactor, according to an e-mailed statement today.
“Given the signs, it’s certain that fission is occurring,” Junichi Matsumoto, a general manager at Tepco who regularly talks to the media, told reporters in Tokyo today. There’s been no large-scale or sustained criticality, he said.
The discovery of an atomic reaction that can produce a nuclear explosion comes amid rising concerns about possible contamination after another radioactive hot spot was discovered in Tokyo on Oct. 29. It’s possible there are similar reactions occurring in the No. 1 and No. 3 reactors, the other cores damaged at the station, Matsumoto said.
“Melted fuel in the No. 2 reactor may have undergone a sustained process of nuclear fission or re-criticality,” Tetsuo Ito, the head of Kinki University’s Atomic Energy Research Institute, said by phone. “The nuclear fission should be containable by injecting boron into the reactor to absorb neutrons.”
FATAL RADIATION Levels At Fukushima Now ‘Off The Scale’
lethal levels of radiation have been discovered in areas of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant almost five months after it was crippled by an earthquake and tsunami.
Plant operator the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) said radiation greater than 10 sieverts per hour was found at the foot of a ventilation chimney between two reactors, Reuters reports. According to the World Nuclear Association, a single dose of 10 sieverts is fatal, while just half that would kill 50 per cent of people exposed to it. ( More )

June 15th: A NUCLEAR RABBIT has sparked online panic in Japan. Amateur footage shows an earless mutant rabbit, and the person who made the video claims it was shot just outside the exclusion zone near Japan’s crippled Fukushima plant.
The earless rabbits have bald heads and gray eyes instead of hairy heads and red eyes. The owner of the rabbits said that the mother rabbit used to give normal birth and only this time the new-born were different.
The clip has given rise to fears the radiation threat in the area is far worse than previously thought. The funny bunny has caused an online frenzy, with predictions that babies in Japan may soon be born with mutations.
May 15th: Tepco and the Japanese government struggle to keep up the appearance that they have the Fukushima situation under control.
APRIL 23rd: Once again the mainstream media is is down playing the situation.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Helen Caldicott received her medical degree in 1961 from the University of Adelaide Medical School. In 1977 she joined the staff of the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston, and taught pediatrics at the Harvard Medical School from 1977 to 1978.
In 1980, following the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, she left her medical career in order to concentrate on calling the world’s attention to what she refers to as the “insanity” of the nuclear arms race and the growing reliance on nuclear power. Dr Caldicott tells it as it is. You won’t hear this on the news!
NEW EPA MILK SAMPLES IN HAWAII show radiation in milk at 800% above limits for C-134, 633% above limits for C-137 and 600% above EPA maximum for I-131 for a total of 2033%, or 20.33 times, above the federal drinking water limits. Read this article
Japan nuclear radiation, including i-131, Caesium 134 and Caesium 137, is now being detected in a wide variety of foods on store shelves in California. In the first food chain tests made public radioactive contamination was found in spinach, strawberries, topsoil, grass, and milk. Of the isotopes detected, radioactive iodine has a half-life of 8 days outside of the human body and 100 days inside the body. The C-134 has a half-life of 2 years and the c-137 has a half-life of 30 years. C-135 with a half-life of over 2.3 million years is not reported as detected.
New readings have also been posted for Phoenix AZ with milk being above the federal limit and Los Angeles with milk being slightly below the limit for Iodine.
Montpelier VT milk has tested positive for radioactive CS-137, above about 2/3rds the EPA maximum and Spokane WA milk testing less than half the limit for i-131.
Editors Note: We are well aware that the EPA levels are gauged for yearly exposure but the idea that it is somehow safe to be way above accepted levels for at least 2 weeks is ludicrous.
